Contractors performing repair and renovation activities in pre-1978 homes can reduce childhood lead exposure by following regulations and lead-safe work practices to prevent the spreading of lead dust from deteriorating paint.

Anyone providing services to repair, renovate or paint a home or childcare facility built prior to 1978 is required to be certified under the EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule.
